period during their first year and 2) complete the necessary membership forms.  Members are also eligible for scholarships and awards awarded through the national scholarship committee.

Peer Advisor Program
Peer Advisors are the cornerstone of first-year programs at Mercer University. A Peer Advisor is a friend, a resource, a mentor, a guide, a support, and so many other things to first-year students.

Peer Advisors work with all orientation programs, including Summer Orientation, Move-In Day, Bear Beginnings, a UNV, MAPS, or FYS-X course, and Spring Orientation. They have the unique opportunity to interact with incoming students and their families throughout the summer and fall. PAs serve as ambassadors for Mercer, guides for first-year and transfer students, and many other roles.

The application process for PAs begins in January of each year. Check back for updates and to apply!

Sophomores
The Sophomore Signature Program offers a variety of resources throughout the year just for sophomore students! Wondering about changing majors, or where to get information on that summer internship you want? Maybe you're wondering how your current campus involvement will help you in your future career? Check out the meetings and events taking place on campus this semester and get involved!

MerPMed
MerPMed is a student-run organization for Mercer University students who are interested in pursuing careers in the health sciences.  Although many of MerPMed's members are pre-medicine students, pre-veterinary, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy, and other pre-health students are welcome to join.  Attending MerPMed meetings and events provides students with the opportunity to learn more about their chosen educational and career paths and to meet and talk with other pre-health students.

Pre-Professional Information
Our office provides information on successfully entering a professional school, from learning more about professional school to taking entrance exams to preparing for the interview to completing academic coursework in your pre-professional track. A variety of programs are offered throughout the year. Check out pre-professional program's websites and their facebook fan page for more information.

Academic Success
Our office coordinates academic advising for students around campus. Upperclass students are assigned an academic advisor in the major department. For first-year students, this advisor is often the instructor of an UNV or MAPS course. Students enrolled in a pre-health track receive academic advising out of our office related to their coursework and general preparation for entering professional school. We also offer supplementary academic advising for all students, regardless of major or college/school. If questions or concerns arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.
