General Information

MerPMed is a student-run organization for Mercer University students who are interested in pursuing careers in the health sciences.  Although many of MerPMed's members are pre-medicine students, pre-veterinary, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy, and other pre-health students are welcome to join.  Attending MerPMed meetings and events provides students with the opportunity to learn more about their chosen educational and career paths and to meet and talk with other pre-health students.

To give you a sense of what types of activities MerPMed members participate in, the following is a list of some of the activities MerPMed members took part in during past school years: learning about the medical school application process; learning about the medical school interview process from the Office of Career Services staff; touring the Mercer University School of Medicine; shadowing third- and fourth-year Mercer University School of Medicine students at a local hospital; attending talks given by medical school admissions staff members, a pathologist, a dentist, and a member of the U.S. Army Health Care Recruiting Team; and participating in Mercer Overnight's Mix and Mingle sessions with high school students.
