Students, faculty and staff have access to a variety of computing resources at Mercer through BearNet, the University's campus-wide network that connects more than 4,000 personal computers to e-mail servers, file servers, web servers, and off-campus resources.
A high-performance Compaq AlphaServer system provides network support for:

The Computer Science Department offers labs with a full Ethernet network to Linux and Windows NT servers and Intel-based personal computers. In addition, the following departments and schools have computers for personal use:

All students, faculty and staff are provided with Internet-enabled e-mail accounts, which are accessible through the campus network or by dialing local internet service providers. All residence halls are directly connected to BearNet.
Additional information resources available on the University network include the main library catalog and research services, law library and medical library catalog and reference services, a University-wide electronic bulletin board and electronic mail services.
