Amy Ritz-Keaton

I had worked at a daycare, a domestic abuse shelter, and a lobbyist's office. But now I have a job I love. Networking at Mercer led me to it—in fact, I was hired a month before I graduated. As a victim advocate in the DA's office, I help people who have had terrible things done to them. I'm their physical and emotional support throughout court hearings and I update them on case progression. Seeing these people leave in better shape than when they arrived and knowing justice is served—that's tremendously rewarding to me.

FAQs

Is there any testing that I will have to take before enrolling?

The Regional Academic Centers ask that each student, except those already holding bachelor’s degrees, participate in three assessment tests.  The first two tests are multiple choice tests in the fields of math and reading.  The third test requires the applicant to write a five paragraph essay on a question of their choice.  These tests do not effect an applicant’s admission decision in any way.  They are designed to help faculty advisers assess which classes will be more beneficial for a student to take.
