The GMAT: What You Should Know

·        The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required for admission to the master's degree programs of the Stetson School of Business.

·        GMAT scores may not be more than five years old at the time of admission for the first term of enrollment.

·        The School of Business considers the total score in the admission evaluation, and will use the best total score if more than one attempt has been made.

·        Generally, to be competitive in the selection process, your total score should be approximately 450.  Other considerations include previous college performance and professional experience. This information is given as an indication of your competitiveness in the selection process, and does not represent the total admission evaluation.

·        An admission decision cannot be reached without the GMAT score.  If there is not sufficient time to receive the official score report before your desired point of entry, we will accept your immediate, "walk-out" score for the admission evaluation.  An official score report will be required by the end of your first semester of enrollment.

·        Visit the GMAT web site at www.mba.com for up-to-date information and recommended study guides. Allow 4-6 weeks preparation for the test.  Use study guides, software, practice tests, and/or preparation courses.  Many test takers have improved their scores with intense preparation by one or more of the available study aids. GMAT review courses are available through Mercer University's Continuing Education. Call 678-547-6501 for more information.

·        The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test (CAT) or computer-based test that is available year-round, six days per week.  Immediate, unofficial score results are available to the test taker, i.e, "walk-out" score.

·        Many of you probably have not taken standardized admission tests since you were in high school.  Remember the basic strategy for successful outcomes: prepare, practice, and go to the test with plenty of rest!  Good luck!
