HOPE (Helping Other People Excel)
The mission of HOPE is to reach out to the high school freshmen girls in the surrounding community in an effort to teach them skills to enhance their chances of being accepted into colleges and becoming employed. These skills include teaching appropriate dress and interviewing techniques. The organization will start by working with young women from the Middle Georgia area high schools and will eventually work with the young men in the community as well.

Activities of the Organization

HOPE plans to set up appointments with these girls so that the members can help them through:
  • conducting small group talks with high school freshman girls.
  • offering dress advice and make-overs and providing mock job interviews.
  • holding monthly clothing drives to provide appropriate outfits for interviews.
  • partnering possibly with a community agency with similar goals.
  • partner possibly with the Salvation Army to find clothes for the girls to wear.
