Specific details regarding academic policies for all programs are available in the University Catalog and in other sections of the Teacher Education Handbook.  Students are subject to the academic standards for the program in which they are in enrolled.  Failure to maintain the required GPA will result in academic probation or dismissal.  Students may repeat a class only once in order to improve the grade in that class, and no student may repeat more than two classes in his/her program with Mercer.  A student may not retake an equivalent class at another college in order to replace a grade earned at Mercer.

Certification requirements should be completed as soon as possible, usually within three years from the time of enrollment to ensure certification in a timely manner.  However, any new certification requirements enacted at the state level may be applicable to any or all certification programs.  Students will be advised of any such changes and will be assisted in meeting any new requirements.
