Master's in Education Macon

To be fully admitted to The Collaborative Educator on the Macon Campus, a student must:

  • hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better
  • submit a target score of at least 800 (excluding analytical) on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or 397 on the Miller's Analogy Test (MAT)  Test scores must be less than six years old. 
  • Two official copies of all transcripts must be sent directly to the Graduate Program Associate from each college attended.
  • Submit a letter of intent that includes:
    • Reasons for pursuing graduate study
    • Professional and academic interests
    • Professional goals that you intend to pursue upon completion of your graduate program
    • A brief description of any personal, cultural, educational and/or professional experiences that you believe have significantly influenced your career choice and accomplishments to date
    • A statement of any factors (e.g., disability, educational opportunity, economic factors, etc.) that you believe may have influenced your GPA and/or GRE scores.
  • Interview with graduate faculty.    
  • English Proficiency: Any international student whose native language is not English must submit results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a Certificate of Proficiency from an ELS Language Center.  The minimum acceptalbe TOEFL score is 550.  English proficiency at ELS Level 109 is accepted.
  • Submit a $25.00 applicaiton fee, made payable to Mercer University.
  • You must download, fill out, and mail the following forms to the places indicated on each form:
Students may be provisionally* admitted for the first semester of cohort courses.  However, full admission cannot be granted, and progression in the program cannot continue beyond the first semester of cohort classes until all admission requirements have been met.

Applications and required documentation for admission to the graduate teacher education program must be received by the following dates:

  • August 1 for Fall admission  
  • May 1 for Summer admission
