  • Mercer's Regional Academic Center in Henry County, McDonough, just off I-75,
  • Mercer's campus in Macon, just off I-75.

    Who may apply?
    Teachers may apply. The initial requirements are:

    1. Candidate must hold a bachelor's level teaching certificate.
    2. Candidate must have three years of successful teaching experience.
    3. Candidate must submit passing scores on either the GRE or MAT.

    How long will it take to complete my Master's?
    The program will take two complete years, including summers -  six semesters.

    Will this program lead to certification with the Professional Standards Commission?
    Yes, the program has been approved by the PSC and candidates completing the program will qualify for an L–5 in Leadership.

    How much does this Master's program cost?
    Current tuition is $1,005 per course; students will take an average of two courses each semester.

    Can I keep my job and do this program?
    Yes, all classes will be offered in the evening, 5 to 8 p.m., over a 16-week semester. There is also a requirement of a school-based experience with a mentor.

    If I already have a master's degree, may I add on an endorsement?
    Yes, Tift offers a program for an endorsement in Educational Leadership. Six courses will be required, plus the internship.

    What is the deadline for submitting my application?
    The application deadline is August 1st.

    When does the program start?
    Cohorts begin the fall of each year.

    Where will the program be offered?
    The Educational Leadership Program will be offered at three convenient locations:
    Mercer's Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta, just off I-85 inside the northeast perimeter,
    Cohorts begin Fall Semester of each academic year.
