Professor Sharon Augustine is a coauthor of the article, "Student engagement in the Teacher and Learning of Grammar: A Case Study of an Early Career Secondary English Teacher," which has been chosen for the 2008 Association of Teacher Educators Distinguished Research Award. ATE established this award to recognize and encourage outstanding investigations influencing teacher education and/or student learning and to emphasize the Association's concern for excellence in teacher education. The award-winning article, co-authored with Peter Smagorinksy, Laura Wright, Cindy O'Donnell-Allen, and Bonnie Konopak, was published in the Journal of Teacher Education 58 (1), January/February 2007.
