Last year, thousands of Mercer basketball fans filled the University Center to watch the Bears host the University of Alabama. This year, Mercer will welcome intra-state rival Georgia Tech to the UC for not JUST a big game…but for Homecoming 2008!

In 2007-2008, the Bears pulled off one of the biggest upsets in university history with a 96-81 win over Southern Cal at Los Angeles before returning home to host the Crimson Tide. With one of the most demanding non-conference schedules in the country in 2008-2009 that includes games at UCLA, Loyola-Marymount, Auburn, Alabama, Dayton, Oklahoma State and Louisville, the Bears will be growling for a major upset at home against the ‘Ramblin Wreck.

General admission ticketsfor the game will go on sale online to the public beginning Oct. 20. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. and the game will be televised by FSN to an audience of more than 12 million households.
