Calista Anne Waddy
Born and raised in Georgia, Calista Anne Waddy has performed as a solo harpist for hundreds of weddings and special events throughout the Southeast. Besides performances with Itzhak Perlman, the Canadian Brass, the Detroit Symphony, the Pensacola Symphony, and the LaGrange Symphony, Calista has performed for such notable Americans as President Jimmy Carter, President George H. W. Bush, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Congressman Johnny Isakson, and the guests at Toni Braxton’s wedding. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy with a principal in harp from Florida State University. Additionally, she has studied harp at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Eastern Music Festival, and Sewannee Music Festival. Upon completion of her degree and internship, Calista Anne married and moved to Covington, Georgia, where she taught privately, coached in two youth orchestras, and helped form the Covington Community Orchestra as well as several harp ensembles. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Macon, where she continues to teach privately as well as keeping up her busy performing schedule and serving as adjunct instructor of harp at Mercer University.
