General Tuition
Without an assistantship or fellowship, tuition for the Master of Music program is $450 per semester hour. Typically, graduate students take between 9 and 12 credits per semester, but are allowed to take a maximum load of 14 credits per semester. In addition to tuition, students who are not receiving an assistantship or fellowship are charged a standard applied lesson fee for private study.

Assistantships
The Townsend-McAfee Institute and Townsend School of Music award several assistantships per year. Assistantships require 4 hours of work per week in a music related job, pay half of the tuition cost, and eliminate fees related to private study. Students who receive an assistantship pay $225 per semester hour of credit without any other fees. Assistantships require students to enroll in at least six hours per semester.
