Jay is adjunct instructor of horn at Mercer University.  He also maintains a private studio with more than 30 students in Cobb County, Georgia and the surrounding area.  Jay received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Florida State University in 1981 and his Master of Music in Performance at Georgia State University in 2004.  Jay is currently second horn with the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Cobb Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Atlanta, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Gwinnett Ballet Theatre Company.  Jay has also been a member of the Emory Brass Ensemble since 1998, where he is the Assistant Conductor and Personnel Manager.
