Katie Holland

Katie Holland is the Adjunct Instructor of Bassoon at Mercer University. She received a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education from Tennessee Tech University and Master of Music from Stony Brook University. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University with Frank Morelli in the Doctor of Musical Arts degree program. Prior to joining the faculty at Mercer University, Ms. Holland served as the Interim Principal Bassoonist with the Knoxville Symphony and the Knoxville Opera.
Ms. Holland is an active freelancer and teacher throughout the Atlanta, New York tri-state area, Nashville, and abroad. Past engagements include The Atlanta Ballet, Asheville Symphony, The Greenwich Village Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica UANL, Stony Brook Symphony, Hamptons Choral Society, Prime Ensemble, TACTUS, Bang On a Can Festival, Synergy Winds, Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players, North Shore Pro Musica, Orchestra Nashville, and Opera Nashville. She has performed with a wide range of artists including Trey Anastasio, Evan Ziporyn, and Edgar Meyer.
