Dr. Carol Goff  is currently Associate Professor of Music at Mercer University. She began her undergraduate studies at Wesleyan College with pianist Linda Lane.  She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, where she studied with Arthur Rivituso and a Master of Music degree in piano from the University of Central Arkansas, studying with Samuel Driggers.  She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Accompanying from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was a student of renowned pianist and accompanist John Wustman. 

 

Widely known for her accompanying skills, she concertizes extensively in this capacity.  She coordinates the Accompanying program at Mercer University, while also serving as a vocal and instrumental coach.  She is also active as a teacher and has spent three summers teaching the gifted piano students at the Governor's Honors Program of Georgia. Active as a choral accompanist and clinician, some of the conductors she has accompanied include Moses Hogan, Simon Carrington, Donald Neuen, John Dickson, Jerry McCoy, Rodney Eichenberger, Don Moses, Jerry Jordan, Fred Stoltzfus, and Constantina Tsoulainu.  She has served as a Metropolitan Opera Audition accompanist and has performed in Master Classes with Martin Katz, Richard Goode, Uriel Psachor, Virginia Zeani, Sylvia McNair and William McGraw, among others. 

 

Before coming to Mercer in 1989, she served on the faculties of Valdosta State University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
