Carol S. Goff is Associate Professor, Chair of Keyboard Studies and Coordinator of the Collaborative Piano program in the Townsend School of Music. She has served on the faculty at Mercer University for twenty two years. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Accompanying from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 2000, where she was a student of renowned pianist and accompanist John Wustman. Carol’s primary focus is operatic, song, and choral literature; she has served as a Metropolitan Opera audition coach/ accompanist and has performed in masterclasses with such renowned artist-singers as Sylvia McNair, Frederica von Stade, Virginia Zeani, William Warfield, William McGraw, John Cheek, Stanford Olsen, Paul Sperry, David Daniels and Mary Ann Hart. Carol was chosen as a performing Fellow for SongFest 2008, where she performed in the premier of John Musto’s Book of Uncommon Prayer and in the Bach Cantata Institute under the direction of John Harbison.  While at Songfest, she  studied with  renowned collaborative pianists Martin Katz and Graham Johnson. Choral conductors with whom Carol has collaborated include Moses Hogan, Simon Carrington, Donald Neuen, Rodney Eichenberger, Jerry McCoy and John Dickson.
