Carol Goff, an Associate Professor in the Townsend School of Music at Mercer University, has served on the music faculty for nineteen years. Carol is committed to the development of young singers and pianists, helping to prepare them for graduate and professional programs, while also concertizing extensively with faculty and guest artists.

She served three years as Director of the Piano division at the Governor’s Honors program. Carol’s great passion for choral music has kept her in demand as a coach and choral clinician. She is active in GMEA and served seven consecutive years as the All College Choir accompanist. She has also served as the accompanist for the Mercer Singers since 1990.  She has served as a Metropolitan Opera audition accompanist and has performed in Masterclasses with such luminaries as  Sylvia McNair, Virginia Zeani, William McGraw, Stanford Olsen, Mary Dibbern, John Harbison, John Musto, Paul Sperry and David Daniels. In June 2008, Carol was selected as a Fellow for SongFest, a professional program for singers and collaborative pianists held at Pepperdine University. Within this intensive month of performing workshop masterclasses, Carol studied with renowned collaborative artists Martin Katz and Graham Johnson.  She was selected to participate in a premiere of John Musto’s Book of Uncommon Prayer and also in performances given by the Bach Cantata Institute.  She holds the BM and MM degrees in Piano Performance, studying with the late Linda Lane, Arthur Rivituso, Samuel Driggers, and Andrew DeGrado.  She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Accompanying from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was a student of renowned  pianist and accompanist John Wustman.
