Master of Music in Conducting (Choral or Instrumental)
 

The Master of Music in Conducting (Choral or Instrumental) degree is for students who want to enter an intense period of graduate, professional study leading to a career in choral or  instrumental conducting. Conductors choosing the instrumental sequence specialize in either wind ensemble or orchestral conducting.  Please contact Dr. John Simons, Director of Graduate Studies, for further information at simons_je@mercer.edu . The Master of Music in Conducting (Choral or Instrumental) degree leads to doctoral study in conducting and is ideal for choral, band or orchestral  music educators, musicians aspiring to conduct at the collegiate level, community music leaders and church musicians. Two semesters of residency are required.

 

Masters candidates who wish to include the designation "With Emphasis in Church Music" to their degree may do so by choosing to use six elective credits in designated church music courses.
