Mercer on Mission
Georgia Baptist College of Nursing was fortunate to have eight students and two nursing faculty members participate in the Mercer on Mission 2009 trip to Thailand! During their 21 day visit to Thailand, students were challenged to learn about the country, as well as social and health-related issues. The trip was led by Dr. William F. Bina, Dean and Chair of the Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. Other faculty members accompanying students on the trip included: Professor Gayle Bina, Mercer University School of Medicine and nursing faculty members: Dr. Brenda Rowe and Professor Ginger Mize. Mrs. Srisomporn Suangkaew, Director of College, presented the hand painted plate to Bill Bina (who then later presented it to GBCN). Also pictured, Dr. Brenda Rowe and Professor Ginger Mize
Nursing students participating in the Mercer on Mission trip to Thailand included: Katherine (Katie) Brueck (Junior), Meredith Gilly (Junior), Samantha Harris (Senior), Laura Lunsford (Junior), Joshua (Josh) Makarevich (Senior), Melody Moore (Junior), Katherine Nguyen (Senior), and Amanda Blair Waters (Senior).

The Skills Lab at Boromarajonani College of Nursing , Nakorn Lampang in Lampang Thailand.
 On June 3rd several members of the nursing faculty arranged for our nursing faculty and students to tour parts of the hospital in Lampang and to observe students in clinical. This picture was taken on a postpartum unit with several students from Boromarajonani College of Nursing, along with three Mercer nursing students (Katie Brueck, Josh Makarevich, and Meredith Gilly).
