Tanya Graham-Sims, adjunct in social gerontology, published “Volunteerism - Help Needed” in the July/August/September edition of Active Lifestyles: Central Georgia’s Premier Magazine for Elderly Adults.
Dr. Leona Kanter, chair and associate professor, participated in the Summer 2006 Institute on “Infusing Asian Studies Into the Undergraduate Curriculum” at the East-West Center at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii. Her project concerns the Japanese outcaste group, the Burakamin. Kanter also became a Fellow of the University Commons in May. Her Commons project, “The Abraham Salon,” is based on the model of the Abrahamic interfaith dialogue created by Bruce Feiler, author of Walking the Bible, Abraham and Where God was Born.
