Mercer Second in A-Sun Academic Standings

MACON--Mercer University's student-athletes finished second in the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic standings for 2001-2002.
The final standings were released Wednesday morning by the A-Sun office. Belmont, in its initial season in the conference, caputured the Academic Champion Trophy with a record-setting 65% of its student-athletes posting a grade-point-average of 3.0 or better during this past academic year.
Mercer ranked second with 53% of its 193 student-athletes earning A-Sun All-Academic standing, including 87% of the men's and women's tennis teams.
