TBS to Film Comedy Show Pilot at The Grand Opera House

TBS has selected Macon and The Grand Opera House, a performing arts center of Mercer University, as the first location for a live taping of a new comedy show to air on the Turner Broadcasting System’s cable television network. “The TBS Comedy Road Show,”hosted by comedian/actor and all-around funny guy Harland Williams, will be taped at The Grand on Monday, Dec. 22, and will air at a later date.

The public is invited to be a part of the live audience for this new television pilot showcasing the best homegrown comedy talent from Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. Featuring the South's funniest stand-up comics, musical comedians, sketch performers, novelty acts and video shorts, the entertaining evening will be a special holiday treat for audience members, who will receive free admission along with the chance to win door prizes – just for being a part of the show.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, at The Grand. Free tickets are available through Mercer Ticket Sales by phone at (478) 301-5470 or in person at either of two locations: Grand Opera House Administrative Offices at 400 Poplar Street in Macon (Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.) or at The Grand at 651 Mulberry Street in Macon (Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.).
