The Mercer chapter of Habitat for Humanity will hold a luncheon on Feb. 26 from 12:15-1:15 p.m. in Connell Student Center Conference Room I on the Macon campus to raise funds for its 2009 Mercer Build.
Since the late 1990s, Mercer and its campus chapter have partnered with Macon’s First Baptist Church and Highland Hills Baptist Church to jointly construct eight decent and affordable homes with and for deserving families. Gifts to the chapter will go towards the cost of constructing this year’s house, which got under way on Feb. 3 and is expected to be completed in April.
The luncheon is corporately sponsored and is limited to the first 100 guests who sign up to attend. Interested faculty and staff can e-mail Macon Area Habitat for Humanity at rsvp@maconhabitat.org to make reservations. Faculty and staff who are unable to attend the luncheon but would like to help financially can go to www.maconhabitat.org, click on the “make your donation here!” link and designate their gift to the 2009 Mercer Build. Contributions may also be mailed to Macon Area Habitat for Humanity, 3225-A Rice Mill Road, Macon, GA 31206.
