Mercer has begun the roll-out of its new administrative computer system. The process will lead into the spring, when the new programs come on line to replace the current systems for student and alumni
records, including the student information system, web portals, finance and human resources, application programming interfaces and business intelligence software.
The initiative, called BEAR 2.0, for Building Exceptional Academic-Administrative Resources, began with a roll-out event on Oct. 24. The roll-out will continue through January, as various departments are trained on the new systems. To view a complete schedule, visit the BEAR 2.0 Web page at http://www2.mercer.edu/bear2.0/.
The new web-based platform by Campus Management Corp. will be flexible and user-friendly and will give the University an ultra-modern software suite that puts it at the forefront of technology. Mercer will pilot Campus Management’s suite of e-learning services, which features integration and commercial support for the Moodle open-source learning management system.
Campus Management’s One Campus Ecosystem is a flexible administrative and academic solution arrayed to help institutions like Mercer deliver and manage both traditional and nontraditional undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, engineering, liberal arts, music and nursing, as well as professional programs in medicine, law, pharmacy, health sciences and theology to a diverse student population.
