Medical Society Recognizes School of Medicine in Savannah
The Georgia Medical Society recently recognized Mercer’s School of Medicine campus in Savannah for making a difference in the health of the Coastal Empire community. The School of Medicine received one of three awards in the Institution/Organization category. The honor was presented during the organization’s Ninth Annual Health Care Heroes Awards Dinner.
The Georgia Medical Society was the first chartered medical society in the state of Georgia and is the oldest county medical society in the United States. Its present membership is made up of approximately 500 physicians practicing in the counties of Chatham, Effingham, Bryan, McIntosh and Long.
