ORLANDO, Fla. — At the recent Kappa Psi National Pharmacy Fraternity Grand Council Convention in Orlando, Mercer University’s Gamma Psi Chapter and its members received multiple awards. For the first time in its history, Mercer’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences chapter was recognized as the Top Collegiate Chapter in the nation.
Among the other awards, the chapter earned the Top Chapter in Province IV for the second year in a row. Chapter adviser Dr. Chad Vandenberg, associate professor of pharmacy practice and director of the Center for Clinical Research, received an award as a Top 10 2008 Grand Council Deputy. Dr. Andrew Crowe, a 2007 Doctor of Pharmacy graduate, received the same award for 2009. Immediate past-regent (and Mercer chapter president) Purvish Patel, a fourth-year doctor of pharmacy student, was honored with one of only 12 Kappa Psi Foundation Scholarships.
