Authors Luncheon Draws Record Crowd
More than 340 book lovers filled the ballroom of the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel at the record-breaking 18th annual Mercer University Press Authors Luncheon on Dec. 1. Fourteen national and regional authors, including best-selling and award-winning Southern writers Steve Berry, Terry Kay, Hank Klibanoff and Ferrol Sams, were on hand to sign books and talk with attendees. The program was dedicated to the late Tom Watson Brown, who served 28 years as chairman of the Mercer Press Board.
Mercer Trustee Doc Schneider, left, chats with Kay about his latest work, “The Book of Marie,” published by Mercer Press last summer. Schneider, a 1981 Mercer law graduate and chair of the Mercer University Press Board of Directors, served as the master of ceremonies of the event.
