More than 225 scholarship donors and recipients attended the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences’ annual Honors Luncheon on Oct. 22. The event, held on Mercer’s Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus, honored those who contribute to scholarships and support the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Dr. Richard Swindle, senior vice president for University advancement and senior vice president, Atlanta, recognized The Walgreen Co. for its commitment to improving the profession of pharmacy and health care, as well as its generous support of pharmacy education at the College. The company has contributed more than $100,000 to the College, supporting student scholarships, diversity initiatives and building renovations.
Dr. H.W. “Ted” Matthews, dean of the College, presented Brian Robinson, Pharm.D., with the Dean’s Award, which annually recognizes an individual who has contributed to the enhancement of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the pharmacy profession. A 1993 graduate of the College, Robinson has been employed with The Walgreen Co. for nine years and is responsible for 37 pharmacies as the Atlanta north pharmacy supervisor. He is an active member of the College’s Board of Visitors and the Advisory Committee for Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Experience Advancement.
