Mercerians from all generations are planning to return to campus in mid-November to join current students, faculty and staff for Homecoming 2008, as the annual celebration moves to fall for the first time in several years. The theme for the week is “Reconnect, Reunite and Rediscover.” The program will be a joint effort of the University’s Alumni Services, Student Affairs and Athletics departments.
The week of Nov. 16-23 will be packed with events planned for all Mercerians, from the climactic basketball game against Georgia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 22, to the road race, orange pancakes, Homecoming dance and much more. The refreshing cool of a late November weekend in Macon should provide the perfect environment for tailgating and the many other exciting events planned for the week, including a bon fire and pep rally. Other highlights of the week include the John Berry Christmas concert at The Grand Opera House, concerts at Fickling Hall and the Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
