For Homecoming 2010, the Mercer men’s basketball team will match up against Harvard University on Nov. 21 and the women will face off against Furman on Nov. 20. But beating the Crimson and Paladins will only be one of the many highlights of this year’s Homecoming celebration, whose theme is “Spirit Between the Spires.”
Homecoming Week is Nov. 14-21, with alumni events beginning on Friday, Nov. 20, with the women’s game against Furman at 5:30 p.m., followed by the student Skit Competition, bonfire, pep rally and fireworks on Bear Hill at beginning at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 will feature activities for bears of all ages, beginning with a 5K Road Run. The day will feature open houses, the Half Century Club and other alumni reunions, the Athletic Hall of Fame induction luncheon, and tailgating before the men’s game against Harvard at 3 p.m.. The University will unveil a new bronze bear statue at 2 p.m. on the Porter Patch side of the University Center.
