Dr. Hodges previously taught in an associate degree nursing program in Kentucky, where she developed and chaired the RN-BSN program. Since that time, she has taught BSN, RN-BSN, and graduate students. She serves as the RN-BSN coordinator at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing to recruit, advise, and counsel RN-BSN students returning to school.
Her clinical expertise is primarily adult health, critical care, and geriatrics. She has written articles for publications, including Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Journal of Nursing Education, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Public Health Nursing, High Acuity Nursing, Nursing Education Perspectives and Rx for Success
Dr. Hodges' research involves both qualitative and quantitative research, including gerontology (Masterworks of Art and Chronic Illness Experience in the Elderly), teaching-learning (Collaborative Interdisciplinary Learning for Pharmacy and Nursing Students), community-based HIV/AIDS awareness and universal precautions (HIV/AIDS: A challenge in the Classroom), professional resilience among acute care nurses, and camp nursing as an undergraduate experience. Her publications and presentations also include regional, national, and international audiences.
