Fran Kamp has been teaching nursing for 22 years. Her experiences include teaching in fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, and nutrition. She has been a faculty member of the College since 2000.  Fran is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Learning Resource Center (LRC).  It is here that all courses learn the basic skills needed to provide proper patient care.  All core undergraduate courses with clinical practice utilize the LRC.  Much of the learning occurs using a variety of simulation activities including SimMan.  Fran has been involved in integrating simulation throughout the curriculum and continues to attend conferences to enhance the learning experiences for students.  Prior to academic teaching, she specialized in neonatal intensive care nursing, where she worked for 13 years.  Fran is a certified CPR instructor, serves as a reviewer for nursing textbooks, and holds certification in Home Health Care.  Recently Fran was part of the Nursing Education Task Force Curriculum Subcommittee as content expert on medication calculations for medication administration for the State of Georgia.  Fran is a member of several professional organizations and is presently the Fundraising Chair for the Pi Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.  In 2007, Fran was awarded the Faculty of the year award by her colleagues.  Fran also volunteers in a variety of community activities around Georgia.
