Dr. Mitchell has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for more than 35 years. She has extensive experience in working with the neurodevelopmental outcomes of high-risk infants. 

Dr. Mitchell has a strong interest in international child health. She has traveled to several countries as a Christian health care ambassador to provide health care to impoverished children in countries such as Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Brazil, Mexico, and Moldova.
