Mr. Summerville's education included care of adult patients in acute care facilities.  He was honored with teaching awards on several occasions.  He taught classroom and clinical practice for undergraduate and graduate students.  He completed several doctoral level courses in research and statistics and has a strong understanding of research.  His special interest is in the use of computer technology in education.  He was an early adopter of Web sites and has created and continues to create course Web sites, as well as educational materials for the Web.  His most recent interest is in the use of simulations in educating nursing students.  He lead the development and implementation of simulated experiences in some courses.  He created simulations for human patient simulators (SimMan) in the College.
