Dr. Linda A. Streit is a well recognized member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and maintains officer positions and membership on international, regional, and local committees.  She serves as a leader on College committees for development, planning, and implementation of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program and the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) program at Mercer University.  She has served on many internal accreditation committees leading to successful regional and specialty accreditation site visits. She maintains ongoing research in the areas of osteoporosis, evidence-based practice, innovative teaching/learning trends, workforce civility, technology in the classroom, and ethical decision making.  Over the years, her research presentations have spanned the globe, including international presentations made in United States, Greece, Taiwan, Russia, and Canada.  She was the chief organizer for the American International Health Care Alliance program, which provided support to nursing faculty and students at The Medical University of I. P. Pavlov in St. Petersburg, Russia. She is the recipient of external funding for her research and, through submission of multiple types of training grants, the Mercer University nursing graduate program received over $689,000 in education, training, and program grant funding.  Her clinical areas of interest include critical care, oncology, and emergency nursing.  She has served in academe for nearly 25 years. 

Dr. Streit has authored several book chapters and research publications on topics related to cardiac disorders, infection, and nursing education and serves as a reviewer for publishers. She is the recipient of many honors and awards of excellence, including outstanding faculty member awards at multiple colleges and universities.  Dr. Streit, an acclaimed educator and clinical practitioner, participates in classroom and clinical education, as well as assuming the responsibilities associated with her administrative role.  She is a consultant to nursing faculty, nursing student groups, agencies, and in the review of health care.
