National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) Convention Highlights

The Georgia Baptist Association of Nursing Students (GBANS) and the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing are very proud of all students who attended and participated in the NSNA Student Convention held in Nashville, April 2009.  GBANS won two national awards, including the Community Service Award and the Breakthrough to Nursing Award.  Kayla Nessing, Jessica McKnight and Erin Snitker deserve special recognition for submitting these awards on behalf of GBANS.  GBANS also had a resolution passed at the National level.  This resolution addressed the importance of sun safety and avoidance of excessive sun exposure among the adolescent population.  Authors of the resolution include Jessica Hand and Patricia Walker.  GBANS will also be represented on the national level with two GBCN students selected to serve as national officers!

GBANS is very fortunate to have a wonderful leader in the President's role this year.  Many thanks to Mary Mann for her leadership on the board and the many hours of support that she gives to this organization.
