Denmark - The Obvious Choice for Studying the Politics and International Business of the European Union

Earn Mercer academic credit at DIS (Denmark International Studies), which is affiliated with The University of Copenhagen. DIS offers a number of specialized semester, full-year, and summer programs in a wide range of academic fields, with a large number of courses focusing on European themes and issues. The courses, designed for upper-level undergraduate students, fulfill credits toward the bachelor degree at selective American universities and colleges.

The DIS curriculum includes courses which cannot be studied elsewhere, or which can be better studied in Copenhagen. Classroom teaching is strongly enhanced by an extensive program of course-integrated, hands-on field studies, comparative field projects, and study tours in Denmark, Europe, and Russia. Through the program, you will acquire solid academic training, increased knowledge and intellectual awareness of the world, sharpened analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, and greater intercultural skills.

DIS is an internationally renowned study abroad institution affiliated with the University of Copenhagen and is recognized, supervised, and financially supported by the Danish government. More than 165 universities and colleges, mostly in the US, recognize DIS as an official partner institution and transfer credits earned at DIS to their students' records. Academic and administrative responsibility is vested in a Board of Directors appointed by the Danish Ministry of Science, the University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. Since its founding in 1959, more than 26,000 American and other international students have studied with DIS as an integral and recognized part of their university degree.
