Mercer University operates on the 16-week semester system. The undergraduate programs at the Regional Academic Centers were designed to include two 8-week sessions within the semester to allow working adults the:
- Convenience of evening and weekend classes
- Monday-Friday classes are held 5:30 p.m. - 9:45 p.m.
- Saturday classes are held 8:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
- Organization Leadership classes are held only on Saturdays 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Flexibility of entering our program at one of six different entry points throughout the year:
- January, March, May, July, August, October
- Advantage of being full-time by only attending 2 classes per week.

Full-Time Enrollment Example:
A student who desires full-time status (12 semester hours) can take two classes per session, which will give them a total of four 3-hour classes for the semester, yet they only attend class two evenings per week (or one evening and a Saturday, if applicable).
