MISSION

The mission of Recreational Sports and Wellness is to provide leadership and direction that engages the students and University community in healthy and active lifestyles through participation in programs, services, and facilities that support the academic mission of the University.

 

DEPARTMENTAL INFO
Recreational Sports and Wellness is located in the University Center and is comprised of four major program areas.  Aquatics, Student Fitness/Wellness, Sport Clubs, and Intramural Sports each give students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in a variety of interests.

Student Fitness/Wellness

Sign up for a Personal Trainer to help you reach your ideal fitness level.  Contact Ruth Arumala at arumala_ro@med.merce.edu or 301-2824.  The Bear Fitness Incentive Program will end on July 31, 2008.  The new program will begin on August 18, 2008.


Intramural Sports
Join the new Mercer Intramurals Facebook group to stay current on Intramural Sports.  http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7486804661

Intramural Sports is asking for your digital pictures of you and your teams playing intramurals.  You can send action shots or pictures of your teammates and spectators watching the game.  Team pictures are great too.  We will be starting a new intramural page to display your pictures.  Please e-mail your pictures to
noah.daniel.calar@student.mercer.edu.


Sport Clubs
Join one of our many sport club programs.  We have clubs ranging from equestrian to wrestling to paintball.  Contact the club president to learn more information about each individual club.

Outdoor Adventure is now a part of the sport club program.  Various trips will be taken throughout the semester including: whitewater rafting, kayaking, and camping.  Camping equipmental and canoes, kayaks, and mountain bikes are available for rental for a nonimal fee.
