In the fall of each academic year, Mercer University produces a campus directory. This directory lists the names of students enrolled as of the fall semester and includes campus box numbers, local or residence hall addresses, permanent home addresses, local and permanent telephone numbers and email addresses.
Students may request that their names not be published in the directory. If you do not want your name and the aforementioned information to appear in the directory, you must place a student directory restriction in BearPort. The restriction must be placed not later than August 30th.
To delete your information from the University Directory follow these steps:
1. Log on to BearPort
2. On the site map, go to "Personal Info"
3. Select "Update Student Directory Restriction"
4. Next to "Directory Restriction:" select "Restrict Information" from the available options and submit
If in the future you do wish your name and information to appear in the directory, you will need to release this restriction in BearPort. To do so, follow steps 1-3. In step #4 select "No Restrictions" and submit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This restriction applies only to the Mercer Directory. The University at its discretion and without the written consent of the student may release the following items: student name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date and place of birth, academic program, dates of attendance, degrees and honors received, most recent previous institution attended and participation in officially recognized activities and sports. To request non-disclosure of this information to all other third parties, contact the Office of the Registrar.
