Welcome to Religious Life at Mercer University!

Dear Mercer Community:

Welcome to Mercer University!  We believe that nurturing the spiritual life is essential to our mission.  Through the Religious Life Center, we offer a wide variety of opportunities designed to foster and support spiritual growth.

A diverse association of campus ministry groups provides an array of worship, fellowship, and service experiences in familiar denominational settings.  Koinonia, an ecumenical organization of students, works to facilitate cooperation and build community between campus ministries.

University Worship is held each Wednesday in historic Newton Chapel.  This unique gathering of students, faculty, and staff for worship gives voice to our deepest commitments and our highest calling as a faith-based university.

While Mercer University embraces its Baptist identity, the best of our Baptist principles compels us to extend gracious hospitality and generous respect to persons from all religious traditions.

As Minister to the University, I am delighted to serve the spiritual needs of the Mercer family.  If I can be of assistance to you in any way, please feel free to contact me.

Blessings,

Craig T. McMahan

University Minister & Dean of the Chapel
