Charles Foster Johnson
Visiting Instructor in Preaching
Charles Foster Johnson is a Visiting Instructor in Preaching. He holds a B.S. from Mississippi College and a M.Div. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to McAfee, Rev. Johnson was Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas with whom he built a multi-racial and multi-cultural congregation. Rev. Johnson currently teaches Introduction to Preaching, The Preaching Ministry of Martin Luther King, Jr., Prophetic Preaching, Preaching Special Pastoral Occasions, and Spiritual Formation.
Rev. Johnson has also written for several publications and websites and is a frequent speaker and preacher, as he is currently serving as Interim Pastor at Immanuel Baptist in Nashville. In addition, he serves on the Baptist World Alliance General Council, was the Baptist Center for Ethics “Baptist of the Year” in 2004, and is a founding member of the Texas Faith Network.
Rev. Johnson is married to Jana, who serves as the Church Administrator for Peachtree Baptist Church, where they are members. They have three children: Chad, who manages a ranch in Bennington, OK; Cliff, who serves in the Army Corps of Engineers, presently stationed in Ft. Lee, VA; and Chris Anne, who lives in San Antonio. Both of his sons have served tours of duty in Iraq.
