James Neil (Dock) Hollingsworth, Jr.

James Neil (Dock) Hollingsworth, Jr. is Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of Supervised Ministry. Dr. Hollingsworth did his undergraduate work at Mercer University and received his M. Div. degree from The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He worked for Mercer University in Macon before transferring to the Atlanta campus to open the office of admissions at McAfee School of Theology and recruited the first class for McAfee's opening in 1996. Prior to that, he served in churches in North Carolina and Georgia. Dr. Hollingsworth made the move to the classroom in 2007. He now teaches the Mentoring I and Mentoring II courses each fall and spring. He also directs the Pastoral Residency Program made possible by funding from the Lilly Endowment, Inc.
Dr. Hollingsworth completed the DMin program at McAfee in 2008. His thesis was entitled, "Christian Leadership Coaching: Implications of Post-Graduate Pastoral Residencies for the Mentoring Curriculum at the McAfee School of Theology." In addition, he serves on the board of the Lord's Day Alliance of North America.
Dr. Hollingsworth and his wife, Melissa, are both Mercer University alumni. Their twin children, Haley and Brendan, attend Mercer University in Macon. The Hollingsworth’s are members of Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia.
