MACM Frequently Asked Questions

Who should apply?
Individuals who have, or are about to complete a regionally accredited Bachelor's degree with a 2.75 gpa or above and otherwise meet the requirements for the M.Div.

How long does it take?
Fulltime students should have no problem finishing the program in two years.

What does it cost?
The tuition rate for the MACM is the same as the M.Div.

What can I do with an MACM?
While the M.Div. is the classic gold standard for practicing ordained minsters, the MACM is ideal for bi-vocational and part-time ministers, ministers with undergraduate ministerial education, lay leaders, and professionals from other disciplines seeking to broaden their competencies.

What are the limits of an MACM degree?
All degree programs have their limits.  Two important ones students should consider are that the MACM does not prepare students to enter the Ph.D., Th.D., or D.Min.  Also, most denominations require an M.Div. for ordination.

What are some of the advantages of an MACM degree?
There are advantages of this degree over others.  Because the MACM consists of fewer hours, it is less expensive. Students enrolled in the MACM can transfer credits to the M.Div. if they decide before finishing they would like to take the M.Div. degree.

Do you accept transfer credit?
Yes, Students may request the transfer of up to 14 Master's level hours from another ATS accredited seminary.  Students must be accepted into the program and have earned a "B" or better in courses to be considered for transfer.  McAfee students who have earned a MACM may transfer up to 28 hours into the M.Div. program.

How can I apply?
Student may download a printable copy of the application or email to request a paper copy.
