MEMORANDUM
TO: 2011 McAfee School of Theology Graduates
FROM: Diane Frazier and Becky Nelson
All obligations to the University must be satisfied prior to commencement. This includes return of library books and other University property to the appropriate offices and payment in full of outstanding indebtedness (parking fines, library fines, tuition balances, etc.).
Academic regalia will be available for pickup from the Mercer Bookstore in Atlanta. The regalia will be yours to keep. It is important that caps, gowns, and hoods be uniform in appearance. Try on and press your regalia before the ceremony.
Reception – Friday, May 13, 2011, 6:30 p.m.
The Banquet will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain. Please notify Becky or Diane if you have any guests who will need assistance.
Commissioning Service, Friday, May 13, 2011, 8:00 p.m.
The Commissioning Service will be held in the sanctuary of Smoke Rise Baptist Church. Again, if you have guests who will need assistance, please notify Diane or Becky.

Recommended attire
No jackets – men should wear dark slacks, dark shoes, and a shirt with a white collar. Women should wear comfortable dark dress shoes with a dress or skirt that does not show below the gown; or dark slacks and a blouse. Try on and press your academic regalia before the ceremony.
Wearing of Academic Regalia
Only the traditional cap and gown, with or without hood, and University-approved cords or ribbons are authorized for wear. Any addition to the formal academic regalia must be approved at least two weeks in advance and must represent only those organizations recognized by the University. Only the Dean can grant approval.
