Welcome!   You will find the Master's degrees offered at McAfee School of Theology to be the very best theological training for ministers and other servants.

McAfee offers the Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Ministry degrees.  In addition to the General Master of Divinity, there are also tracks in Academic Research, Business Administration, Christian Education, Church Music, Global Christianity, Pastoral Care, and Urban Mission, as well as a number of joint degrees.

The Admissions staff will assist you in the visiting campus, completing the application for admission, seeking financial assistance and transitioning to Atlanta.  We encourage all prospective students to join us for the McAfee Preview Conference or to schedule an individual campus visit anytime classes are in session.  We hope you will take a moment to get to know us and give us a chance to get to know you.

Requirements for Admission:
The McAfee School of Theology seeks women and men who combine the call of God's spirit with the intellectual gifts, the emotional maturity, and the spiritual discipline to become effective and responsible pastors and leaders in ministry.

Candidates for admission may be upcoming or recent graduates of an accredited undergraduate institution, or they may be college graduates who have been active in their church and community for many years. Bi-vocational ministers who want to enhance their theological education are also encouraged to apply for admission.

Minimum requirements for admission include a regionally accredited bachelor's degree with a liberal arts core or proof of an equivalent degree from a foreign university. Applications will be evaluated based on your total profile (undergraduate GPA, personal information you supply, letters of recommendation, and/or interviews). A minimum grade point average of 2.75 overall and 3.0 in your major is normally required. In certain cases, a student may be admitted on a provisional basis for admission deficiencies. The student will have one semester to remove any remaining admission requirements in order to remain in the Master of Divinity program. Final approval of admission to the School of Theology is given by the Dean.
The application deadline for Fall 2009 is July 1 and Spring 2010 is January 4.

For individuals who do not currently possess a bachelor's degree, but who want to obtain a graduate theological education, Mercer offers pre-theology education through the
College of Liberal Arts in Macon and through the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. For more information about these programs, contact Mercer's Office of Undergraduate Admission.
