Long recognized as one of the South’s best universities, Mercer has aspirations to join the ranks of America’s leading private research universities in the years ahead. Realizing this goal involves thoughtful planning, effective benchmarking, careful monitoring of higher education trends, and generating meaningful input and “buy-in” from University constituents.
The University Planning Council, a representative body that includes faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders, is vital to the ongoing strategic planning efforts of the university. It is instrumental in advising me on institution-wide strategies designed to realize Mercer’s highest aspirations.
As the University Planning Council goes about its work, this web site will serve as a repository for news, notices and other documents related to Mercer’s planning activities. Whatever your relationship to the University, I hope you will find it to be useful as you seek to learn more about Mercer’s future direction.
