Letter from the President...

Mercer University is engaged in a project to implement a new administrative computer system that will replace SIS, FRS. and HRS. We have asked Collegiate Project Services to help us plan and manage the implementation project, and Campus Management has been selected as our software vendor. To be successful, this project will require the effort, ingenuity and commitment of a large number of stakeholder groups throughout the University.
This important new system will significantly improve service to our students, faculty and staff and provide greater reliability university wide. We will be able to employ new and improved technology and review and improve policies and procedures. This project has the full support of the trustees, members of the president’s executive council and the deans. I invite you to participate with us in this important project.
It is important for us to deliver the highest level of technical services and support to enable our students and faculty to be successful. Our current systems have served us well, but the technology is dated and is reaching the stage when it will no longer be supported. With the help of leading experts at Collegiate Project Services and Campus Management and the full involvement of the University community, it is time for us to take the service we provide to a higher level. This is important to our students as well as our faculty and staff who teach and serve our students in many ways.
This website was created to describe the plans we have for preparing for this implementation project. It will outline what, when, where and how long. I hope you will read this material and pass this link along to others.
Thank you for your commitment to this important endeavor.
William D. Underwood
President

7. We will take project deadlines seriously and will provide resources to ensure that they are successfully met.
8. When asked to make a decision that will impact the project, we will make the decision in a timely matter so as not to negatively impact the project timeline.
