A Billy Jonas performance is an explosion of energy! In singalongs, bangalongs, whisperalongs, as well as improvised songs, his primary instrument is the audience. Central Georgia Opera Guild's second presentation of the 2007-2008 season is Gioachino Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville). Rossini comically riffs on middle-aged romantic pursuits and underlying panic in this masterpiece of opera buffa. Under the baton of Dr. Robert Hart Baker, the Asheville Lyric Opera Company presents North Carolina native mezzo-soprano Cheryse McLeod Lewis in the role of Rosina, Greensboro Opera tenor Daniel Stein as Count Almaviva, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis bass Daniel Webb as Bartolo.
